Project 365 - Week 20 (August 12-18)

Summer break has come to a close. School started this week. My oldest is in Kindergarten. ALL. DAY. LONG. It will definitely be an adjustment for all of us. The house is a little quieter when she is gone. Her little sister and brother don't quite know what to do without her managing playtime activities. Mommy doesn't want her to spend all this time away from home, but I know she has to. She needs to grow, to learn, to make new friends, to adapt to the rules and systems that are outside of her home. I know this is good for her, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard.

Day 134/365 "Proud"

"Look Mommy I killed a moth all by myself!" Cheyenne was freaking out about a moth flying around the kitchen, so Lyla quickly grabbed a paper towel and squished it as it landed on the wall. Lyla saved the day!

Day 135/365 "Zoo"

One last hoorah before school begins. Pappi watched Honey Boy while Daddy and Mommy took the girls to the Zoo.

Day 136/365 "Fair...AGAIN!"

The girls were so excited to go back to the fair, especially with Nana and Auntie Bug Bug Bug.

Day 137/365 "Quiet time"

All of the littles love books. We read at least one per night, but sometimes one is not enough. Throughout the day Lyla will bring Pappi a book and ask to sit with him while he reads to her.

Day 138/365 "First Day"

The official start of all day kindergarten. She was nervous at first, but once she saw her best friend was in her class, everything was just fine.

Cheyenne telling Pappi all about her second day of school.

Day 140/365 "Amazed"

I am always so fascinated at how the plants can wrap themselves around things to grow. I was worried my cucumber plant wasn't going to make it, but we already have one and it looks like there are going to be a whole lot more!
